All SPMM Courses are held at the London Hilton Olympia Hotel.

Weekend Schedules

Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 High Yield courses take place on Saturday. These courses start at 8 AM and finish at 7PM with a lunch break and two to three coffee/tea breaks.

Paper 3 course take place on both Saturdays and Sundays. On both days the starting times are 8.30 AM. On Saturdays we will close at 6.30 PM, on Sundays at 5.30PM. On each day of the course, there will be a lunch break and two to three coffee/tea breaks.

CASC Weekend courses take place on both Saturdays and Sundays. On both days the starting times are 8.30 AM. On Saturdays we will close at 7PM, on Sundays at 6.30PM, with a lunch break and two to three coffee/tea breaks.

CASC Mock exam start at 8.30 AM and finish at 6.30 PM. On the day of the exam, there will be lunch provided with two to three coffee/tea breaks. There will be 3 rounds of mock exam. Please check whether you are in Round 1, 2 or 3 with the course administrator, nearer to the time of the mock exam and we will send you the timings of simple and paired CASC circuits.

Topics covered

Paper1 (ONE DAY): Basic Psychology, Pharmacology, Psychopathology (Descriptive & Explanatory), Clinical Psychiatry, Clinical Examination, Social Psychiatry, Cultural Psychiatry & Stigma, History of Psychiatry & Ethical issues in Psychiatric Practice.

Paper2 (ONE DAY): Advanced Psychology, Pharmacology, Neurosciences including Neurochemistry, Neuroanatomy, Neuropathology, Neuroendocrinology, Behavioural Neurology, Neuroimaging, Neurophysiology and Neurological Examination, Basic Genetics, Psychiatric Genetics, Basics of Epidemiology, Psychiatric Epidemiology with updated national and international data on mental health conditions relevant to the paper 2 exam.

Paper3 (TWO DAYS): Critical Appraisal, Principles of Evidence Based Medicine and Statistics, General Adult Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Learning DIsabiity, Child Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry including Perinatal and Neuroliaison, Psychotherapy, Addiction Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry and Rehabilitation Psychiatry. (Please note that for paper 3 weekend course, some knowledge of statistics is assumed).
